About Texas Garage Door Pros
Named for the Texas state bird — grounded in Texas, serving Houston and Austin.
Our Story
Mockingbird Garage Doors was founded in 2010 by a team of Texas-native technicians who saw a gap in the market: homeowners across Houston and Austin were getting inconsistent service, surprise bills, and technicians who could not back up their work. We set out to change that.
The name comes from the Texas state bird, the mockingbird. Adaptable, resilient, and deeply local — that is what we aim to be. Unlike national franchise chains, every technician on our team lives and works in the same communities they serve. When a storm rolls in off the Gulf and a hundred garage doors stop working, our crews are already here.
What We Believe In
- Quote before work: Your technician states the price before touching anything. You decide, no pressure.
- Show your work: We explain what failed, why it failed, and what we replaced. You keep the old parts if you want them.
- Same-day follow-through: If we schedule same-day, we arrive same-day. If something changes, we call you proactively.
- Stand behind it: All labor warrantied for 12 months. Springs and openers carry manufacturer warranties.
Credentials and Licensing
Mockingbird Garage Doors holds Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) license #M-44210. We carry full general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage on every crew member. Our Houston technicians are trained in TWIA wind-load compliance and WPI-8 door certification, which is required by many Texas coastal county insurers.
Houston and Austin
We operate two fully staffed service centers: one in central Houston at 4521 Main St and one in South Austin at 1204 S Congress Ave. This dual-market presence means we can offer true same-day service throughout both metro areas and their suburbs without routing calls through a national dispatch center.
Houston suburbs we cover include Katy, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pearland, Humble, and League City. Austin suburbs include Cedar Park, Round Rock, Pflugerville, Dripping Springs, and Georgetown.
TWIA Compliance: Why It Matters for Houston Homeowners
The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) requires that structural components — including garage doors — meet specific wind-load ratings in eligible coastal counties. An uncertified door can void your windstorm coverage. Our Houston technicians carry TWIA documentation and can install WPI-8 certified doors with same-day capacity on most popular sizes.
What Our Customers Say
We hold a 4.9-star average across 430+ verified reviews. We do not cherry-pick reviews or incentivize positive ratings. When a job does not go right, we make it right, and that record stands in our review history.
